Founders' Inspiration and Journey
Iris Hui Zhang, the visionary behind 2nd Shine ECO Design, brings a rich and diverse background to the forefront of our company. Born and raised in Beijing, China, Iris graduated from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology with a bachelor's degree in Engineering. She then ventured into the futures trading industry, where she honed her analytical and strategic skills with a post graduate diploma at Post Graduate School of China Social Science majoring in Business and Economics.
In pursuit of new opportunities and experiences, Iris migrated to Australia. She embraced her creative passions by completing a master’s degree in Design from the University of New South Wales College of Fine Arts (UNSW COFA) in 2002. Following her graduation, Iris embarked on a career as a freelance designer, photographer, and digital artist, where she channeled her artistic talents into captivating works.
Since 2006, Iris has been an integral part of the IT industry, working across various domains such as health, finance, insurance, digital advertising, hospitality, and retail. With over 18 years of experience, she has developed a strong expertise in team management, test management, project delivery, and scrum leadership. Her professional portfolio also includes significant achievements in data science, AI and machine learning, data analytics, and data visualization.
The inspiration for 2nd Shine ECO Design stems from Iris's deep-rooted passion for sustainability and innovation. Witnessing the vast amounts of waste generated by Australia's coffee culture, Iris envisioned a way to repurpose these materials into valuable, eco-friendly products. Her diverse background in engineering, design, and technology uniquely positions her to drive this mission forward.
